OUTSIDE SCHOOL HOURS CARE AND VACATION CARE

1.INTRODUCTION

Pormpur Paanthu Aboriginal Corporation provides outside school hours child care services and an early learning environment that promote positive learning and development outcomes for children living in Pormpuraaw between 3.00pm-5.00pm; and vacation care programmes during school holidays.

2.SCOPE

The service accepts enrolments from all children and supports the transition to school for each child enrolled at the service by building and maintaining relationships and sharing relevant information with School Attendance Supervisors and Officers where they exist in the community.

3.SERVICE DESCRIPTION

The service is a budget based funded (BB) child care service with an approved learning framework that accepts enrolments from all children and supports children’s learning development through educational programming and practice

4.TARGET GROUP

Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander young people aged 5 years of age to 15 years of age living in Pormpuraaw

5.OUTCOME DESCRIPTION

The service uses an approved learning framework learning to:
Provide quality child care, early learning and school age care services that promote positive learning and development outcomes for children
Ensure availability of and access to child care and early learning services
Build the financial management capability of child care and early learning services through best practice

6.OUTPUT ACTIVITIES

  • Develop Activity Work Plan
  • The service engages in quality improvement activities
  • The service has developed and implemented a Quality Improvement Plan and continuous improvement practices
  • The service employs educators with an early childhood or education related Certificate III or higher education
  • Provides families with access to services
  • Provide families with flexible support
  • Establishes policies to contribute to the cost of operating a BBF service
  • The Service is maximising the number of children attending the service
  • The service balances its income and expenditure in its Budget
  • One compliance and operations Report
  • One Utilisation Report
